How we came to be
Our Story
We are dedicated insurance brokers who deliver value to policyholders by getting to know them, their business and their unique needs. Aldgate was founded by former insurance underwriters who wanted to work directly with business owners to help them navigate their insurance needs. We created an independent insurance brokerage from the ground up. We’re not owned or controlled by insurance companies or big banks. We are lean and focused on customer service.

Sam L.
With an eye to the future, Sam knew from the moment that he entered the insurance business that starting a brokerage was what he wanted to do. He quickly recognized that real customer service was lacking, creativity was being phased, and a brokerage like Aldgate was needed to fill that gap.
Sam holds a J.D. from the San Francisco School of Law with an undergraduate degree in Biology and a minor in Environmental Science.

Our Business Model
There are only a few ways to purchase insurance: You can deal directly with an insurance agent, purchase directly from the carrier or you can use an independent brokerage like Aldgate.
Agents hold an important place in the industry, but they work for insurance companies and only sell their policies — in those situations, you may not get the best price or the best coverage.
As a broker, Aldgate is not tied to a specific insurance company. This means we can work in the best interest of our clients. We take the burden of “shopping” off your shoulders by comparing policies from multiple companies to find the right one for you.
